Twitter Founder Jack Dorsey Launching Test Of Rival Social Network

The app, Bluesky, is gearing up for a test run right after Musk shelled out $44 billion to buy Twitter. It already has a waiting list of users waiting to try out the beta version of the app.

It’s not yet known what Blueksky will look like or how it will work, but it has been noted as a Twitter rival.

Bluesky’s “AT Protocol” is touted as the core element of a revolutionary “federated social network” that integrates the ideas of the latest “decentralized technologies into a simple, fast, and open network,” according to a company blog. Users will presumably be able to move between multiple social media platforms using a single browser – Bluesky.

As for being a potential competitor to Twitter, Dorsey tweeted earlier this month that it was a rival to “any company trying to own the underlying fundamentals of social media or the data of the people who use”.

(But some reviewers think Bluesky could be part of a stealth collaboration between Dorsey and Musk.)

Twitter customers may be looking for a new place to land even as Musk tried to calm concerns about what Twitter might become under his leadership. He told potential advertisers in a message earlier this week that Twitter would not go “completely uncensored.”hellscape free for allas he has stated in the past. But his latest actions suggest that may be exactly what he is creating.

Musk was quick to repeat that he couldn’t stand Twitter’s lifetime bans, no matter how appalling the posts and user attacks are.

And Kanye West, now legally known as Ye, is already back on Twitter after being fired for appalling anti-Semitic screeds. But Musk says he played no part in the rapper’s return and that his account was restored before he completed the purchase on Twitter.

Several personalities famous users have already announced that they are quitting Twitter now that Musk is in charge.
